Derived from the word ‘Dar’, Durrie (or Dari) is a handwoven cloth laid at the doorway for you to enter from an outdoor space to an indoor world. It is like entering the world of the soul through the world of the body. Today the Durrie is used as a floor covering and can be woven using cotton, wool, jute and a variety of other yarns.
House of Kotwara durries are made as a part of its Dwar pe Rozi skill development and employment initiative.
