Chogas

The ‘Chogha’, a royal costume often worn by the Nawabs of Awadh in the 18th century, was like a gown with applique details on embroidered brocade. The embellishments were grandiose and the ‘Chogha’ was often worn with an inner muslin ‘Angarkha’. House of Kotwara has adapted the traditional silhouette into a straight coat like garment and a Kalidaar Chogha using Chikan embroidery and Appliqué borders on muslin, silk and Chanderi to create delicately detailed textures.
